Dr. McDonald was raised in Chicago and did his college work in Wisconsin, graduating with a BS in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (go Big Red!) in 1989. After graduation, he fulfilled his dream of living in the west by joining a mixed animal practice in south-central Washington State. After two years, he relocated to Park City with the intention of working and skiing for a few years but in typical Park City fashion he forgot to leave! Since 2001 Dr. McDonald has had an ownership interest in White Pine and currently is the sole owner. His special Interests include ultrasound, oncology/chemotherapy and internal medicine.
Dr. McDonald lives in Park City with his wife Bobbie, who is the Practice Manager at White Pine, Eagle, a Karelian Bear Dog, and Scout a Pomeranian/Poodle who at 7 pounds is master of the house! Their two children both go to college in Denver.
He enjoys ice hockey (and has broken bones to prove it!), as well as hiking, camping and skiing.
Dr. Lequient was raised in French speaking Quebec, Canada, and graduated from the University of Montreal Veterinary Medicine Faculty in 1997. She worked in a mixed animal practice until going on a road trip in 2000 in search of the best rock climbing, mountain biking, and skiing to be found in North America. She landed in Utah, where she fell in love with all that the state has to offer. Dr. L (because people have a hard time with her last name) worked at University Veterinary Hospital and Diagnostic Center in Salt Lake City until October of 2011. She really enjoys communicating with pet owners and helping them take care of their companions' precious health. Her special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, pain management, dental care, and senior care.
Dr Lequient lives in Salt Lake City with Azrael; a very vocal nine year old grey tabby, and Millie; a nine-year-old rescued Golden who is so happy to have found a wonderful forever-family. Magali stills mourns Quest, her wonderful Golden/Labrador, who spent fifteen years teaching Magali to be a better veterinarian and a better human.
Dr. Jillian Burchett is a native to Park City and excited to be working for White Pine, the same clinic that took care of her childhood pets. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and French from Lake Forest College in 2003 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2008. After 8 years away, she couldn’t wait to get back into the Park City area where the skiing, hiking, running, and biking never ends. She loves working with the people of Park City who share her same passion for the animal human bond. Her special interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and senior care.
Currently, Dr. Burchett lives in Park City with her husband Dominic, a Captain for The Salt Lake County Fire Department, her three kids Ivy, Tommy, and Allison, and her fur babies Rusty the Doodle, Daisy the Cavalier, Moo Cherry and Alex the kitties, and Hulk the bunny. She hopes to continue adding to the mini farm as the kids get older (horses, chickens, and goats are on the wish list).
Dr. Hafar was raised in Missoula, Montana, went to college at the University of Montana and graduated with a BA in Philosophy in 2006. After college she volunteered for the Peace Corp where she fell in love with medicine while being a translator for visiting surgeons in Honduras. Veterinary medicine provided the perfect opportunity to combine her love of animals, working with people, and her passion for medicine. She received her Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Certification from Montana State University in 2012, and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2016. Her professional interests include wellness care & preventative medicine, dentistry, and dermatology.
Dr. Hafar lives in Park City, and enjoys spending most of her free time in the mountains hiking, trail running, skiing, and more recently learning to mountain bike. When she ventures out of the mountains, you can find her enjoying the area’s many community events and festivals. Utah already feels like home to her, and she looks forward to exploring all that this area has to offer. She recently said goodbye to her dear old rescue mutt, Bernice, and plans to welcome a new trail companion into her life when the time is right.
